Community Foundations Annual Summer Raffle in Final Stage

Waldoboro, Maine John Blamey, President of the Medomak Valley Community Foundation, announced the final stage of the Foundations annual Summer Fun Raffle for The Waldoboro Community Project. The Community Project is a fund raising campaign to develop a recreation complex on Town-owned land behind Miller Elementary School. Private donations will finance the bulk of this project, in a phased development plan.

President Blamey stated, The Foundation is very grateful for the publics support of our raffle. This year, the raffle includes $1,000 in cash prizes along with donated gift certificates and other prizes including an autographed photo of Red Sox pitcher Tim Wakefield, donated by the Red Sox.

Summer Fun Raffles grand prize is $500, along with other prizes of $300, $100, and more including a Hannaford Gift Certificate, and a Gift Certificate from Maine Sport Outfitters of Rockport.

President Blamey continued, Tickets are available at various locations in Waldoboro, including Hillside Collision Center, The Movie Pizza Shoppe, Oceans Bounty Restaurant on Rte. 1, the Waldoboro VFW on Monday evenings, John Foster Little League Field before most games, and from members of the Foundation. Raffle tickets are also available on-line at the Foundations website at www.themvcf.org/events, or by calling me at 832-7761. Raffle tickets will also be for sale on Waldoboro Day, June 17, 2006. Our booth will be located at the corner of Jefferson and Main Street, stop by to learn more about the Waldoboro Community Project and take part in the raffle.

The raffle prize drawing will begin at 10:00 p.m., on June 17, at the street dance.
