The Call to Action
In a little over a generation, Americans have undergone a dramatic change in lifestyle. Recreation and athletics have become an essential part of everyday life for most members of our society. Once the domain of young men, seniors and women are now active participants in a broad range of healthy leisure activities.
As a community, we need to provide our citizens with the opportunity to live long, healthy, and productive lives.
- Our seniors can increase the quantity and quality of their later years with exercise and social programs designed to keep them both physically and mentally active.
- For younger adults, social and recreational programs will not only improve their health but also bring them together as a community. Organized physical activities will improve their physical conditioning, reduce stress, and provide a catalyst for healthier lifestyles.
- For our youth, these activities provide social and recreational opportunities that are safe and rewarding.
Successful community programs create circumstances for youth to participate in activities where they have choices, and shared responsibility. Experience shows that involvement in these programs equip teens with new life skills, self-confidence and the desire to make a difference in their community.
It's time to make a dream into reality. It's time to invest in the community. It's time for action. Please consider making a donation to the Waldoboro Community Project.
